GENERAL PROVISIONS
Key Points
Thank you for your trust. Throughout the duration of your contract, the Allianz teams will mobilize to meet your expectations.
Your contract consists of several documents:

They indicate the effective date of your guarantees and specify the options, additional guarantees, and deductibles you have chosen as well as your premium. They also include specific clauses to adapt the contract to your situation. The Specific Provisions prevail over the annexes and the General Provisions in case of contradiction between them.
- The annexes prevail over the General Provisions in case of contradiction between them.

PRACTICAL GUIDE TO COMPENSATION
Claim declaration
You have 5 working days to declare your claim. This period is extended to 30 days in the event of natural disasters, starting from the publication in the official journal of the decree recognizing the state of natural disaster.
To save time, make your declaration via your client area or via Mon Allianz mobile. You can also contact your usual advisor at the number they provided, or your claims advisor at 0978 978 000 (toll-free number, cost varies by operator, available 24/7).
In case of theft or vandalism, you must make your declaration within 2 working days from the moment you become aware of it.
Compensation
The compensation for the contents of your home is calculated based on the amount of the movable capital you have estimated. This amount is included in your Specific Provisions.
Our advice: take great care in estimating your movable capital. In case of doubt regarding valuable items (furniture worth more than 8,000 euros and jewelry), do not hesitate to have them appraised.
The contents of your home consist of furniture, clothing, equipment, and valuable items. We consider that animals are also included.
We advise you to keep your purchase invoices in a safe place to easily justify the losses incurred. You can also take photos of the interior of your home and keep them in a secure location where you can easily access them in case of a claim. However, in cases of minor claims, you do not need to provide justifications: we will assess the amount of your compensation together. If you have chosen a deductible, we will deduct this amount from your compensation. This deductible is provided for in the Specific Provisions of your contract. Be aware that for certain specific events, there are also specific deductibles detailed in the chapter “Table of guarantee amounts and deductibles.”
4. THE MOST COMMON SITUATIONS
The most common situations
We compensate you based on the damages incurred, according to your contract. Moreover, Assistance supports you in many situations, especially in emergencies. Call Assistance at 01 40 25 52 95 (available 24/7) first before incurring any expenses. Find all the details on the levels of the Assistance option in the chapter “The guarantees,” paragraph IV.
There was a fire in my home
Our assistance teams organize and cover temporary accommodation if your home is uninhabitable. You also receive a sum of money to buy clothes and essential products.
A storm destroyed my home
In case of severe weather, our assistance teams organize and cover temporary accommodation, tarping your roofs, moving and storing your furniture, cleaning your home, all without having to advance any money.
Lightning damaged my electrical appliances
Following a violent storm or a surge in the electrical network, your television no longer works or you lost the contents of your freezer? With the Electrical Damage option, we compensate you.
I was robbed
Remember to file a complaint with the police or gendarmerie and declare your claim within 48 hours from the moment you become aware of it. Even faster: file a pre-complaint online at the following address: www.pre-plainte-en-ligne.gouv.fr
With Assistance, we organize the securing of your home, such as guarding it and your return if you are not on-site.
I have water damage
A leak from a pipe or your hot water tank? Assistance allows you to benefit from the intervention of a plumber to stop the leak. Assistance covers the plumber's travel and labor costs. However, the parts to be replaced are your responsibility. We cover these damages according to the terms and conditions provided in your contract.
5. THE MOST COMMON SITUATIONS
How am I insured if I cause damage outside my home?
The private life liability guarantee also protects you outside your home. For example, if you broke your friend's crystal vase at a party, your dog bit a neighbor, or your child injured a classmate: we cover the material and bodily damages caused to others and ensure the defense of your interests if necessary. Find all the information in the chapter “The guarantees,” paragraph III.4.
Am I assisted if I am a victim of an accident caused by someone else?
If you are bitten by your neighbor's dog, for example, we assist you in making an amicable or judicial claim against the responsible party for the damage you suffered. If a lawyer is necessary, we cover their fees as well as any procedural costs. Refer to the chapter “The guarantees,” paragraph III.5.
What is the purpose of the Individual School Annex, if you subscribed to it?
It protects your child if they are a victim of an accident at school, during a school trip, or during their leisure activities. We compensate them based on the severity of their injuries. In case of immobilization at home or in the hospital for more than 15 days, they can benefit from home schooling. This guarantee is requested by the school, especially for optional activities organized by the school: trips and outings.
Can I request the replacement of my damaged electronic devices or appliances with refurbished devices?
Yes, you can choose to replace one or more of your damaged devices with refurbished devices of the same type (subject to availability). By making this choice, you will reduce your environmental footprint.
What should I do if my home changes?
For example, if you convert a garage, build a conservatory, or buy a work of art... this may impact your insurance. We advise you to contact your commercial advisor. Your compensation may be reduced if you do not request the adaptation of your contract.
Any room larger than 9 m² counts as a main room. It must be a room designated for living or leisure. It is neither a water room (kitchen, bathroom) nor a service room (entrance, hallway, clearance, toilet, pantry, laundry room, dressing room, boiler room, cellar, garage). A room larger than 40 m² counts as two rooms. For more information, find the complete definition of a main room in the glossary at the end of these General Provisions.
What measures should I take when I am away in winter?
If you are absent for more than 15 consecutive days between November 15 and March 15, and your home is not heated, you must:
- Shut off the water
- Drain the pipes, tanks, appliances, and central heating installations.
Indeed, if your property is damaged because you did not take these precautions against freezing, the amount of your compensation will be reduced by 30% if it is your primary residence, or by 50% if it is your secondary residence.

MAIN DEFINITIONS
Find other definitions in the glossary at the end of the document.
Insured
For all guarantees:
- Refers to the subscriber or possibly the beneficiary of the insurance.
- Also refers in case of cohabitation, to the cohabitants of the subscriber if they are designated in the lease of the insured home.
In this case, the guarantees provided in the chapter “The guarantees” of these General Provisions, except for theft and breakage outside the home (level 2 of the Theft and vandalism guarantee and the Breakage of glass or other property guarantee) as well as the option “Electrical damage” benefit, if subscribed, all other cohabitants declared in the lease.
For the Civil liability guarantees and Criminal defense and recourse following an accident, it also includes:
- Any person living in your household, including minor children occasionally hosted.
- Your single children and/or those of your spouse (or the person you live with) not living in your household if they are pursuing their studies and are financially dependent on you or if they are physically and/or mentally disabled.
- Any person voluntarily caring for your children or pets if their responsibility is sought due to this care.
- Your spouse (or partner) when they reside in a nursing home.
Main room
- Any living room larger than 9 m².
A living room is understood to be: a room designated for living or leisure, including verandas, mezzanines, and separated rooms. It is therefore neither a water room (kitchen, bathroom) nor a service room (entrance, hallway, clearance, toilet, pantry, laundry room, dressing room, boiler room, cellar, garage).
A veranda is understood to be: a room with a roof and glazed walls.
A separated room is understood to be a room not contiguous to the living quarters located in the building or in an annex building. The separated room in the building or the annex building must not, either, be equipped with a kitchen.
- Any room larger than 40 m² counts as two rooms.
- If your home is:
- a mobile home or a fixed caravan, all rooms used for living must be considered regardless of their size.
- a loft: if there are one or more partitioned rooms, apply the same rules as above. For non-partitioned spaces, count one main room for every 40 m².
- The area is measured from wall to wall, including the area of closets.
Claim
Event that has caused damage likely to engage our guarantee.
For accidental environmental damage and ecological harm: any damage or set of damages, engaging your responsibility, resulting from a harmful act and having led to one or more claims constitutes a claim.
The claim is linked to the insurance year during which we received the first claim or you received it.

7. Natural disasters (articles L125-1 and following of the Insurance Code and their implementing texts)
If the regulations were to revise the applicable provisions regarding natural disaster guarantees, these would be deemed modified automatically upon their entry into force.
Insurance contracts, subscribed by any natural or legal person other than the State and guaranteeing damages from fire or any other damages to property located in France, notably one of the following guarantees:
- Storm,
- hail,
- snow / Water damage / Theft and vandalism / Breakage of glass
entitle the insured to coverage against the effects of natural disasters, including those from ground subsidence due to underground cavities and quarries on the property covered by such contracts.
The underground cavities considered may be natural or of human origin.
We guarantee the monetary repair of non-insurable direct material damages caused by the abnormal intensity of a natural agent or also, for differential ground movements resulting from drought and soil rehydration, the abnormal succession of significant drought events, when the usual measures to prevent such damages could not prevent their occurrence or could not be taken.
This guarantee applies to all property covered by the contract up to their value set in the Specific Provisions or in the “Table of guarantee amounts and deductibles” and within the limits and conditions provided by these General Provisions.
However, for damages caused by the differential ground movements mentioned in the third paragraph of article L125-1 of the Insurance Code, the guarantee is limited to damages likely to affect the solidity of the building or hinder the normal use of the building.
Damages not presenting these characteristics at the time of the observation of the disorders are also covered by the guarantee as long as they are likely to evolve unfavorably and affect the solidity of the building or hinder the normal use of the buildings.
The conditions for implementing this guarantee, notably the nature of the covered damages and the compensation modalities apply in accordance with Decree No. 2024-82 of February 5, 2024 or any subsequent text that would replace or modify it. These are described in the chapter of these “In what time frame will you be compensated - in case of natural disaster claims.”

The conditions for invoking this guarantee are verified by us.
