THE DARK SOUL

Reda, a broken Marseille cop trapped by the mafia, sees his dark routine disrupted by the arrival of Enzo, an idealistic young policeman. A fragile bond develops between them, quickly threatened by the violence of criminal networks and Reda's demons. A tense thriller where loyalty, guilt, and fate collide until the point of no return.

The Dark Soul immerses the viewer in a nocturnal Marseille, fascinating and brutal, where every street, every dock, and every parking lot becomes a character in its own right. The city reflects the darkness and fragility of its inhabitants. The film explores trauma, extreme choices, and the consequences of revenge, immersing the viewer in an oppressive, breathless, and deeply human atmosphere.

My ambition is to create a total experience, both visual and emotional. Every shot is designed to instill tension and discomfort, playing with shadows, light, and sound so that the viewer feels the fear, anxiety, and despair of the characters. The violence is psychological and intense, always serving the plot and emotion; it is never gratuitous.

KEY CHARACTERS

1. Enzo played by Ludovic Salvador
   Charming, awkward, and full of life, Enzo sorely lacks paternal love. His biological father valued pride and image more than emotional connection. Enzo sees Reda as an ideal father, deeply respecting him and easily confiding in him. His accidental death, caused by Reda, marks the moral point of no return for the film.

2. Issa played by Mehdi Sahnoune
   Issa, of Algerian descent, is a talented and determined boxer. He doesn't joke around and sometimes speaks in Arabic. His sole objective is to win, and he does not forgive Reda's absence during a crucial fight for his professional career, leading to a definitive break with his mentor.

3. Reda played by Moussa Maaskri
   Reda is a closed-off man, shaped by a life without respite. He hides a deep humanity behind a shell forged by the necessity to survive. A prisoner of a system he does not control, he moves forward out of obligation rather than choice. His relationship with Enzo reveals his cracks, regrets, and stifled desire for another life. Reda is a man trapped behind his own wall.

4. Kenza played by Anouchka Delon
   A caring and attentive nurse, Kenza knows she is the apple of her father's eye but suffers from his harshness. Happy when she meets the man of her life, Enzo, she nonetheless fears his reaction. In love and sensitive, she embodies the innocence sacrificed by Reda's faults. Her final tragedy seals her father's fate.
