ADMISSION PROCEDURES
ENROLLING AT COM'ART SCHOOL
All admissions to the school follow an individual interview with one of our training advisors. These interviews take place from October of the previous year, and admissions continue until all available spots are filled.
During this interview, candidates are asked to present:
- Their portfolio or personal work
- School reports from the previous year and the current year
- Their CV
- A cover letter
But it is especially essential to present and defend their professional project. The interview is a crucial exchange moment during which the advisor assesses the candidate's wishes in relation to the proposed training and establishes the most suitable path for its realization. With all these elements, the educational jury will then review each application.
Interview Process
- You discuss your background with your personal documents as support.
- You explain your professional project. Based on this, the advisor proposes a suitable path.
- They give you a tour of the training center and summarize your exchange.
YOUR ADMISSION IN 4 STEPS
- You make an appointment
- You prepare your application
- Your application is submitted to the educational jury
- You receive a response within 48 hours
Your interview will last about 1 hour. You can choose to do it in person at the school or remotely. You can join a training program at any level of a curriculum, depending on your background and experience.
Our training programs are accessible to people with disabilities. Specific needs or support requirements will be addressed during the interview.
PROFESSIONALIZATION AT THE HEART OF OUR TRAINING
“Recruitment workshops” have become essential. Whether the student chooses to pursue their training through work-study or traditional “initial” training, immersion in the professional world will be key to their entry into the job market at the end of their studies.
Professionalization contracts, apprenticeships, or internships, the first step remains the application: CV, cover letter, and portfolio will be essential to secure an interview. Our advisors organize workshops during school vacations. With their expertise not only in recruitment but also in design and communication, they teach everyone how to highlight their skills, skillfully emphasize their professional experiences, or showcase their interests.
Choosing Work-Study
Meanwhile, in class, teachers - also active professionals who are aware of the demands of companies - assist in building the portfolio. This portfolio is an essential business card. More expressive than any speech, it will showcase the candidate's skills and universe to the interlocutor.
- Discuss your work-study project with your advisor
- Prepare your interview with your advisor for the big day
- Apply for job offers and those submitted by your advisor
- Prepare your CV, cover letter, and portfolio
To commit to this path, we offer two types of contracts: professionalization or apprenticeship. Our advisors support applicants and companies in this adventure.
Aimed at students wishing to gain solid initial experience in a company, work-study also allows financing the training year through coverage by the employer's OPCO. This solution enables faster professionalization: familiarizing oneself with the working world, its jargon, learning to work in a team, and managing the pressure of deadlines.
Work-study is demanding. A work discipline, both in training and in the company, is essential for success. Meeting client requests but not being overwhelmed by employer expectations, delivering work on time to teachers. It is a training mode that requires great rigor, but the stakes are worth it.

Non-exhaustive program, subject to modification.
TYPE OF VALIDATION AT THE END OF THE CURRICULUM
At the end of the year, a one-week workshop is organized. The result of this workshop, along with the student's portfolio for the year, will be presented before a jury composed of a higher cycle professor and a member of the management. Progression to the specialization curriculum is conditional on this presentation, the results of continuous assessment, and the student's attendance. The skills acquired during the cycle will be mobilized to convince the examiners.
03. CONTINUING STUDIES
Students who validate the Prep year can join one of the specialized training programs at the school: visual communication, interior architecture, decoration and layout, 3D animation.
04. FOCUS ON PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOPS IN PREP
From the beginning of the curriculum, the applied arts prep program aims to be professionalizing: it immediately fits into an integration dynamic. The skills taught are in line with the demands of the sector. At the same time, we do everything possible to develop each individual's curiosity and artistic culture.
ESSENTIAL ARTISTIC AND DIGITAL FOUNDATIONS
The program is organized around distinct but complementary areas:
- Art history / image culture: Prep students come from diverse educational backgrounds but all share the same need: to enrich their artistic culture. From prehistory to contemporary art, the history of architecture, design, as well as colorimetry will be presented weekly.
- Learning to draw: Provides students with solid foundations that will later allow them to visually represent their ideas within the framework of their projects. Techniques covered: rough, life model, observational drawing, technical drawing... using various available tools: pencil, Chinese ink, pastels, alcohol markers, sanguine, watercolor, modeling, markers, chalk, graphite...
- Practice of DTP software: Computer-Aided Production - Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign - is also part of the weekly learning program. These professional tools will give students the necessary autonomy initially in shaping their projects.
- A weekly 2-hour English course: Once again oriented towards professional practice, emphasis will be placed on specific vocabulary and oral expression.
- The different orientations offered in applied arts: Within the framework of workshops: visual communication, interior architecture, product design. The proposed projects will provide an opportunity to address different methodologies.

Job Descriptions
What is a commercial architecture designer?
The commercial architecture designer is primarily a professional in space organization. Depending on the requests of their clients, they must pertinently arrange sometimes small spaces to maximize their potential and infuse a true identity. This profession often leads them to work for shops, restaurants, or department store stands. It is an increasingly common profession that can intervene in a project from its conception or on an ongoing construction site to provide expertise and find precise solutions. Indeed, each project brings a very specific set of specifications, parameters, and constraints. The goal will be to enhance the space by proposing the best possible layouts and demonstrating a great capacity for adaptation: the flow of people must be facilitated, several small different spaces must sometimes coexist, and certain elements must be highlighted, etc. An assessment of the site will then be essential before proposing sketches, then models, inspiration boards, and material selections. All decor, partitions, furniture, and lighting must be determined and validated by the client before starting the work.
3D Modeling
Students are trained in creation software applied to the field of interior architecture: Autocad, SketchUp, and Rhinoceros3D. They acquire the technical knowledge necessary for using digital technologies: parametric modeling, calculation software, representation of textures and materials. The goal is to learn to construct, manipulate, and communicate complex geometries using computer modeling tools. They then master the representation of plans, sections, elevations, and furniture. The 3D models also allow visualizing the placement of projectors for light, sound paths, and circulation spaces. Mastery of these software aims to formalize and visualize all their architecture projects for presentation to the client.
Working with Space
The interior architect informs themselves of the client's needs and conducts an assessment of the site. Their role is to enhance the space by playing with light, materials, shapes, and colors. Understanding volumetric compositions, light, circulation, and living spaces are fundamentals. Students must consider constructive logics and the specificities of each material. Spatial creation involves a number of components (lighting, colors, furniture) that must be known to propose innovative and suitable solutions for the intended use. Respecting safety rules and administrative standards is essential (formalities for obtaining building permits, accessibility for people with reduced mobility, fire safety...).
Combining Creativity and Technicality to Shape a Space
What is a draftsman-designer?
A draftsman-designer in architecture is a professional specialized in the design and production of technical drawings and plans for architectural projects. Their main role is to translate the ideas and concepts of architects into detailed and precise visual documents, within the framework of construction and implementation of projects. They transpose the preliminary project into documents after analyzing the technical file. They adapt and create detailed plans, technical drawings, and diagrams using CAD software, whether in 2D or 3D. They integrate the specificities outlined for the design team members. These documents are essential for understanding and advancing the project. The draftsman-designer must ensure that all plans and drawings comply with construction standards, local regulations, and safety standards. They regularly communicate with project team members, contractors, clients, and local authorities to ensure that their productions are understood and approved. They must also update plans based on modifications made throughout the project. As you can see, the draftsman-designer is an indispensable pillar. Evolving in this position requires great rigor in addition to a broad knowledge of technical and legal standards. An affinity for digital tools is, of course, necessary.
Enhancing the space by proposing the best possible layouts and demonstrating a great capacity for adaptation. The interior architect is both a creator and a project manager.

04. Year Structure
The year is divided into two semesters, each corresponding to two reports. It is punctuated by oral project presentations, cultural outings, meetings, written exams, workshops, and various internal events of the school. Each project will be presented before a jury, internal or external, to improve the oral skills of future architects and prepare them for the final exam. We encourage our students to follow this training in work-study.
02. Type of Validation at the End of the Curriculum
For progression to the next year, the year's files will be presented before an internal jury, professors, and a member of the management. At the end of the curriculum, students will present their complete global project before an external jury composed of professionals. The skills acquired during the cycle will be mobilized to convince the examiners.
03. Training Objectives
The final objective of this higher training is...
Training in Interior Architecture

WHAT IS A SCENOGRAPHER?
The scenographer is a type of decorator with multiple facets. They can work on museum renovations, all kinds of event manifestations, assist stylists, or work in the world of performance. In this last case, they bring expertise in the choice and realization of sets. As with a traditional interior decorator, their mission requires a creative spirit, but also meticulous supervision of the work. Their contracts are time-limited, depending on the duration of the performances or exhibitions. To carry out their mission successfully, the scenographer must consider three fundamental aspects: the budget, the desired aesthetics, and technical constraints. Their work will begin with a precise analysis of the venue and the event before conceiving a project that they will submit to their client. Once validated, the construction of the decorative elements will begin, while the scenographer ensures good circulation in the space and strict compliance with safety standards. Materials must be carefully chosen to be appropriate for the situation and provide a bold aesthetic. During certain missions, the scenographer will collaborate with directors, advertisers, exhibition curators, or museum conservators.

WHAT IS AN INTERIOR DECORATOR?
The interior decorator offers quality layouts for private or public spaces. After meeting with their clients and taking the time to understand precisely what is expected of them, they begin to design a project by drawing plans and proposing a complete atmosphere where materials, furniture, and lighting will be carefully chosen. Depending on the determined budget, the interior decorator must deliver a result of the utmost professionalism and manage the entire organization of the project. Their technical mastery of drawing and various design software is essential, as is their knowledge of all safety standards, which are now stringent, especially for public places. After selecting the various service providers involved in the realization of the project, they will coordinate the work and choose all decorative elements. As the interior decorator works in almost constant connection with clients, they must possess excellent communication skills and a good ability to synthesize to realize their interlocutors' desires. Creativity and artistic culture are also at the core of the profession, to maximize the potential of a space with talent. In summary, the interior decorator constantly juggles technical constraints and an aesthetic dimension.
